Some of its attractive design features include the iPod dock for charging iPod, iTunes through which you can play music. There are four USB ports for users convenience along with an eight in one media card reader. Few other attractions are the built-in speakers, the head phone jack, volume control knob and the mike on stand. In short it’s a fully loaded LCD monitor.
Bad Points: Although ViewSonic VX2245wm ViewDock LCD Monitor is designed with an eye for detail, it also has its Achilles heel when it comes to playing music or movies from iPod. While there are difficulties in using front panel control, connecting the iPod dock with the two AC cables, two audio cables and the USB cable too is confusing to the average user.
What we thought: The Viewsonic VX2245wm ViewDock monitor, LCD display to be the latest high-tech product that enables the user to use iPod in it. The 22-inch wide screen displays an in-built iPod dock at the base making it easy to use the desktop. It is very enticing with its glossy black design.
Although the idea of integrating an iPod dock is really innovative, it’s annoying when you come to know that you can’t listen to music or movies without using iTunes on your computer. It is not simple either as View Dock requires too many cables to make the whole system work. However, the connectivity options, which include good number of USB ports and the eight in one media card reader, impress any onlooker.
